It seems out of place to put up a hue and cry over the issue to those trying to fix the problem (whether their approach is disasterously misguided or not is quite debatable...) when there wasn't such hype over the deregulation, tax loop-hole and cuts that were done mostly during the last administration to create the problem.
ReplyDeleteSeems that a well-informed letter to your congressional representatives offering a better solution and policy position would have a greater possible impact than a staffer wondering at the possibly obscure reasons they've received a few envelopes with teabags.
Actually, Anon, there was a LOT of hue and cry over the actions of the last administration. In fact, the calls against the last bailout were more than a hundred to one against it.
ReplyDeleteRegardless, whichever administration is in control is the 'one in control'. Can't waste time attacking the previous administration over the problems it caused- which, btw, were the ideas espoused by the current administration.
So far as offering a better solution and policy position having more of an impact: there are more than adequate solutions out there already.
Just as the oolonists rebelled in 1773 to imposed prices and taxation without representation, we are encouraging people to make the same statement today. A peaceful demonstration of our disatisfaction of the policies of the current administrations, who is going even beyond what the past administrations have gone.
Whether a staffer is bewildered or even the LEOs get involved investigating all those tea bags is immaterial: the message will reach the proper ears. Of course, we can predict they won't listen since this country is no longer "We the People" but rather is now "We the Special Interest and Minority Groups".
